Michael Shipman – Attorney
Mr. Shipman began his legal career practicing in Chicago at the Cook County Office of the Public Defender, Felony Trial Division at 26th and California. He aided in the defense of nearly every type of felony criminal charge, from
violent offenses to drug offenses. Upon moving back to his hometown of Nashville, Mr. Shipman accepted a position as corporate counsel for D1 Sports Holdings based in Franklin, TN to assist in the growth and expansion of the company. In 2009 Mr. Shipman entered private practice re-focusing his practice on litigation and criminal defense. Mr. Shipman handles all the firm’s criminal cases in the Middle Tennessee region and as of 2012, has practiced in 17 different Tennessee counties and over 50 different courts. As an attorney, Mr. Shipman has enjoyed representing a wide array of clients from working in the public defenders’ office to working with clients who are professional athletes.

Joel Crim – Attorney
Joel was a prosecuting attorney with the Davidson County District Attorney General’s Office for 5 years prior to forming Shipman & Crim. He has also served as counsel to the Honorable Judge J.
Randall Wyatt in Division II, Criminal Court of Davidson County. Joel uses his unique perspective as a former prosecutor to analyze cases and put his clients in the best position possible to defend their case. Because of his knowledge, understanding and experience with the District Attorney’s office in Nashville, Joel handles all of the firms criminal cases in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.
