Prior to forming Shipman & Crim, Joel was a prosecuting attorney with the Davidson County District Attorney General’s Office for 5 years. Joel also served as counsel to the Honorable Judge J. Randall Wyatt in Division II, Criminal Court of Davidson County. Joel heads the firm’s criminal defense practice and uses the courtroom litigation experience he gained as a former prosecutor to aid the firm in personal injury litigation and social security disability hearings. Joel obtained his license to practice law in Tennessee in 2003, and holds a Juris Doctor ’03 and Bachelor’s of Accountancy ’00, both from the University of Mississippi.
